According to the Official Kwanzaa Website (https://www.officialkwanzaawebsite.org) the seventh principle is “essentially a profound and enduring belief in and commitment to all that is of value to us as a family, community, people and culture.”

I would add the importance of belief in yourself. Yes, Kwanzaa focuses on “shared good“ but I think a true commitment and action on that commitment requires a fundamental belief in your ability to move your vision forward. And yes, broken people have been known to make positive changes in the world. But imagine what they could have achieved if they weren’t broken?

Take on this challenge in 2022

Find and fix the chipped and cracked places in yourself and then work on some of the ways in which you can repair our community, our world.
